Position Overview

This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of end dumps and or belly dumps (with and without pups (trailers) and tarping systems). Drivers will deliver all types of soils, aggregates and other materials to locations both residential and commercial. 

 

Wage Ranges from $22-$28 per hour, dependent upon experience

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

  • Thorough operational knowledge and skills of end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) and Live Bottom or related equipment to be operated.
  • Can operate equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Must keep time and material records.
  • Must follow verbal and written instruction.
  • Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
  • Must have maneuvering and backing skills with double and triple pup.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
  • Connect and disconnect pup trailer.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • One - Two years of previous experience required.

 

Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Report to the job site dressed appropriately and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required (up to 75% of the time).

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Thorough operational knowledge and skills of trucks and related equipment to be operated.
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently under a variety of working conditions.
  • Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations in order to keep time and material records.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as being able to work independently with attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate heavy and complex equipment requiring skill and the exercise of independent judgment.
  • Must be familiar with securing heavy equipment and other over dimensional loads.
  • Ability to professionally interact with customers, collect payments and assist with issues that may arise.
  • Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment that may include but not limited to Truck/Car, Frontend Loader, Motor Grader, Asphalt Paver, and Haul Truck.
