As a Full-Time Aquarium Diver at Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, your day-to-day responsibilities will be both fulfilling and varied. Each day, you'll help ensure safety protocols are followed while preparing for dives in our expansive exhibits. Your primary tasks will include cleaning tanks, keeping spaces clean and organized, and maintaining underwater habitats to ensure the health of our aquatic life. You will also engage with visitors, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm about marine species and conservation efforts. Regular team meetings will keep you connected with fellow staff as you troubleshoot and solve any challenges that arise.
Additionally, you'll document your observations and share insights with the team to enhance our ongoing conservation initiatives. Your commitment to excellence and integrity will be crucial, as you help create unforgettable experiences that educate and inspire our guests.
To excel as a Full-Time Aquarium Diver at Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, several key skills are essential. Divers must have a Rescue SCUBA certification, minimum of 20 logged dives, and a current CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 administration certificates. A strong understanding of marine biology will enhance your ability to effectively care for diverse aquatic species and maintain their habitats. Proficiency in problem-solving is crucial, as you will face various challenges in tank maintenance and animal care that require quick thinking and creativity. Physical fitness is also important, as the role demands swimming proficiency and the ability to work underwater for extended periods.
