Scope of Position:
The Area Controller is oversees and directs the financial operations of the multiple hotels to ensure the security of assets of the company in a centralized environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ø Manages receivables, payables, credit, payroll and cash handling functions with the accounting department.
Ø Prepares financial analysis of hotel operations including variance explanation and makes recommendations to the achievement of financial goals/targets.
Ø Develops and implements financial control procedures and systems; ensures compliance to “Internal Control Checkup”; maintains documents for audits of hotel accounts; ensures compliance with government regulations and contractual agreements.
Ø Directs preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and reporting.
Ø Hires, trains and provides career development for subordinates; conduct performance evaluations and provides feedback to employees.
Ø Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.
Ø Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
Ø Follows company policies and procedures and is able to effectively communicate them to subordinates and required to fulfill Manager on Duty shifts.
Ø Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour and Health laws
