Job Summary:
Hawks Landing Golf Club (Verona, WI) seeks an exceptional and highly motivated Senior Level Manager / Associate Superintendent to join our dedicated team. This pivotal role will work closely with the Director Grounds to ensure that the golf club consistently meets the highest standards of conditioning and playability. The ideal candidate possesses a strong aptitude to be able to execute our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
● Course Maintenance and Agronomy: Collaborate with the Director of Grounds to develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance plan, encompassing all aspects of turfgrass health, irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, and overall course aesthetics. (2) full GPS sprayer systems from AboveParTech have been purchased for 2025 and beyond.
● Personnel Management: Oversee and direct the daily activities of the grounds crew, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professionalism. Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure optimal productivity and adherence to safety protocols.
● Irrigation and Water Management: Ability to learn how to monitor and optimize irrigation systems to ensure firm and fast playing conditions.

b. Updated to a new Watertronics pump station in 2024 with full remote communication.
c. Upgraded irrigation satellites in 2024 to Osmac along with full course single head sprinkler control.
● Course Improvements: Participate in the planning and execution of course improvement projects, including bunker renovations, drainage enhancements, and tree management.
● Environmental Stewardship: Implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact, conserve resources, and promote ecological balance.
● Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, pesticide applications, and other relevant data.
● Continuing Education: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in turfgrass management, agronomy, and golf course maintenance through professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
● Education: Bachelors or Associate degree in a related field of landscape management or equivalent.
● Experience: Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in the landscape, horticulture or sports field related grounds or turf management.
● Skills:
○ Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
○ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
○ Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
○ Proficient in computer applications and relevant software.
○ Ability to learn with a strong desire to advance in the turfgrass industry.
○ Proficient operation of heavy-duty equipment such as a skid steer and tractor backhoe.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including but not limited to lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Other: Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
