The Country Club of Sioux Falls is a family oriented, private club that offers a unique lifestyle to its membership that includes pool, golf, racket club, fitness, and entertainment. With 880 memberships the club is very active and offers a diverse calendar of events. We are looking for a motivated and driven individual to join our team!

Job Description

This is a NEW and exciting position that the club is looking to add. The ideal candidate will be someone with a passion for hospitality and desire to work in the food and beverage industry. This position will be a key player on our team and asked to work in a variety of roles to ensure we are successful every day. One of the primary responsibilities will be to assist in building the calendar of events and then execute our events from start to finish. On non-event days you will be an active member in food and beverage, or tasked with club marketing and promotion. We have self-proclaimed this position our “Director of Fun,” and we want you to embody everything that entails. The position does have the ability to be tailored based on the successful candidate’s experience and interests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Events

  • Assist Director of Banquets and Events with admin duties as they see fit, or in their absence
  • Help with planning, coordinating, and executing events from concept to completion
  • Manage logistics including event space, vendor coordination, budgeting, and timelines
  • Responsible for décor based on theme or event type with goal of adding ambiance
  • Oversee execution day of event ensuing smooth operations and positive experiences
  • Finalize event billing and staff tip outs per company policy
  • Access performance post event and gather feedback for continuous improvement

Marketing

  • Assist management team in developing annual calendar of events that is diverse and aimed at all demographics of the club
  • Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to promote events, services, and products
  • Engage with the members and guests during their visit , and use as opportunity to promote current and upcoming events
  • In collaboration with department heads help manage the company’s digital marketing efforts as it pertains to social media
  • Monitor industry trends to identify new marketing opportunities that could be effective

Food and Beverage

  • Assist food and beverage management team in a variety of roles to ensure member and guest satisfaction on a daily basis. This could include leading a team or special event, serving, or working as support staff.

Requirements:

  • Food and beverage experience

  • Passion for hospitality

  • Knowledge of event planning and execution

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Understanding and commitment to team environment

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask

  • Great attention to detail

  • Should be able to work under pressure and also work in long or split shifts.

  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping

  • Ability to work combination of days, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on the season and event calendar

  • Alcohol certification (TIPS, TAM), and club will assist in costs if needed

Compensation:

  • Pay commensurate with experience

  • Total compensation is estimated at $40,000 - $50,000 annually
