We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Consumer Loan Operations Assistant Manager to support and oversee various aspects of consumer loan servicing and loss mitigation. In this role, you will assist in managing daily operations, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency while fostering a positive team environment. Key Responsibilities
Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the consumer loan servicing department, including loan processing, customer service, investor reporting, tax and insurance monitoring, payment servicing, and document imaging.
Supervise and support loan operations staff to ensure high performance, compliance, and adherence to company policies.
Develop, train, and mentor team members to support their professional growth and departmental success.
Assist with recruiting, hiring, conducting performance reviews, and recognizing employee contributions.
Monitor and ensure compliance with banking regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with teams across credit risk, compliance, and customer service to enhance the loan servicing process.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Prepare and analyze operational reports to track performance metrics, identify trends, and address potential challenges.
Serve as a point of escalation for complex loan inquiries, providing timely and effective resolutions.
Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements.
Maintain proficiency in loan software applications and coordinate system updates, testing, and staff training.
Work with third-party vendors to ensure accurate data exchange and escalate issues when needed.
Apply in-depth loan workout experience to find alternatives to foreclosure and assist in evaluating customer financial situations.
Support internal and external audits while ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
Adhere to corporate policies, state and federal regulations, and compliance training requirements.
Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Required Experience & Skills:
7-10 years of experience in consumer and/or mortgage lending.
3-5 years of leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of consumer lending products, loan processing, and regulatory compliance (e.g., Truth in Lending Act, Fair Lending, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, etc.).
Familiarity with real estate insurance, property tax, loan and mortgage documents, credit reports, and legal loan default processes.
Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in loan management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to foster a collaborative and positive work culture.
Ability to adapt to changes and prioritize effectively.
Confidence in making independent decisions within company policies and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous investor reporting experience, particularly with Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSE).
Experience working with FiServ Signature products.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Professional office setting with standard office equipment (computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.).
Ability to perform tasks requiring reaching, lifting up to 25 lbs., finger dexterity, and repetitive motions.
Requires clear communication and the ability to exchange accurate information.
May need to move around the office for meetings and file access.
