Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable EDiscovery Specialist to join our team. This role will involve processing large volumes of data in various formats using our in-house EDiscovery tool, Local Discovery by Ipro (now RevealData), and supporting attorneys by organizing and tagging documents, performing searches, and facilitating the review process. The ideal candidate will have experience with document management systems, EDiscovery applications, and the ingestion, culling, and review of electronic documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle different file types using specialized ingestion procedures to ensure proper indexing, deduplication, and metadata extraction.

  • Familiarity with processing different types of files (PST, TIF, PDF, zip files, etc.) using appropriate ingestion techniques within the EDiscovery application.

  • Search and Review:

  • Conduct keyword searches to facilitate efficient document review.

  • Understand and apply the process of unitizing, dating, and describing large PDFs and TIFs for review.

  • Redact sensitive information from documents after performing keyword searches.

  • Privilege Review:

  • Differentiate between privileged and non-privileged documents.

  • Assist in generating privilege logs and manage the production of privileged documents as needed.

  • Field Management:

  • Understand database fields and their types, and when they should be used in the context of legal document review.

  • Create, modify, map, and overlay database fields to ensure accurate categorization and review of documents.

  • Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with legal teams to ensure that the data is prepared in accordance with legal requirements and review processes.

  • Ensure timely and efficient production of documents to opposing parties or stakeholders, based on specific case needs.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience:

    • Previous experience working with EDiscovery applications, including tools like Relativity, Ipro, Epiq, Xera, Logickull, or Lexbe is highly preferred.

    • Familiarity with the ingestion process, document review, tagging, redaction, and privilege review.

    • Experience in handling large data sets and understanding various file formats used in EDiscovery.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with in-house EDiscovery applications (experience with Local Discovery by Ipro, now RevealData, is a plus).

  • Strong understanding of file types (PST, TIF, PDF, zip files) and their respective ingestion procedures.

  • Ability to work with metadata, understand field types, and modify or map fields within the EDiscovery application.

  • Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Knowledge of legal terminology and document management practices in the EDiscovery context.

  • Familiarity with the process of redacting documents, conducting keyword searches, and culling data for review.

    Desired Attributes:

    • Ability to understand the nuances of various document formats and processes.

    • Problem-solving skills to identify issues and offer practical solutions.

    • Strong communication skills to collaborate with attorneys and other stakeholders.
