Work with multiple flight antenna and sensing program teams to ensure that the selection, evaluation, analysis, and documentation of the EEE parts specified in developmental and customer designs meet the program requirements.

The Enterprise Assurance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers critical assurance disciplines that protect and enable people, data and missions. We provide a comprehensive approach to managing risk across the enterprise for current and future information environments where the business and missions execute. We apply the use of innovative tools and robust processes to ensure mission and business success.

What You’ll Do:
  • Be personally mentored and trained one-on-one by two subject matter experts (SMEs) with a combined greater than 50 years of electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts engineering experience across multiple industries.
  • Represent Mission Assurance (MA) as an EEE parts engineering subject matter expert (SME) within the program teams, which includes but is not limited to: parts derating, electrostatic discharge (ESD) considerations, thermal management, moisture sensitivity levels (MSL) concerns, visual inspections, failure analysis (FA), destructive physical analysis (DPA), datasheet and specification reviews, etc.
  • Collaborate with the diverse and broad program engineering SMEs to inform the selection of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) EEE parts and the military specification (MIL-SPEC) flight equivalent upgrades.
  • Work closely with procurement personnel (e.g. integrated supply chain).
  • Participate in BAE Space and Mission Systems’ (SMS) Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) process and assess program impact through EEE parts obsolescence analysis across multiple mission areas.
  • Address program and customer logistics, spares provisioning, and maintainability requirements to meet short-term and long-term program goals.
  • Learn to review technical reports from third party analytical laboratories regarding very specific aspects of critical EEE parts following MIL-STD-1580, MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883, and MIL-STD-202.
  • Lead and perform parts engineering functions on both development and production programs using industry-proven techniques and principles:
    • Evaluate EEE parts against program screening and qualification requirements documented in internal source control drawings (SCDs) / select idem drawings (SIDs), datasheets, and in customer specific part test plans.
    • Work with the Tactical Solutions (TS) EEE parts engineering team to prepare and present cases for approval of non-standard parts and deviations in front of customer parts control boards (PCBs).
    • Create part drawings [SCD, SIDs, altered item drawings (AIDs), etc.] as needed to meet new program requirements.
    • Review industry advisories, Mission Assurance Bulletins (MABs), and other alerts for program impact and take action to propose mitigation to affected programs.
    • Perform data reviews of screening, qualification, and DPA test results using BAE SMS’s electronic inspection records (EIR) system.
    • Resolve part anomalies with quality engineers via the EIR system and drive internal and external customer approvals.
  • Interface with program teams and program managers to ensure assigned tasks align with program schedule and delivery.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
