Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility is for safe, dependable, and efficient pipeline operations.

This is an entry-level position to perform the job duties of a gas controller on any of the following systems:  KMTP, Tejas, Copano, or Kinder Hawk. The job location is Houston and the hours are 12-hour shifts. The controller will be responsible for safe, dependable, and efficient pipeline operations. Draft and distribute emergency response communiqués utilizing KM’s emergency response systems. Ensure smooth transition of shift turnovers through verbal and written communication. Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft applications (including but not limited to Word, Excel,    Outlook, Teams)
• Ability to perform the required and expected duties with little or no direct supervision.
• Occasional but infrequent travel away from the assigned work location may be required
• Will be required to stay in hotels close to the corporate headquarters due to local flooding or inclement weather.
• Will be required to travel as needed for Disaster Recovers Drills or site-specific training.

Position Requirements:

PREFERRED Education, Experience, Certifications, Competencies, Skills, and Abilities: Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:

• Familiarity with Kinder Morgan natural gas pipeline systems and operations highly desirable Experience in the natural gas industry in the area of gas control, gas scheduling, and/or field operations is a plus
• Experience working in a 24x7x365 work environment is advantageous
• Associate level degree in any discipline is preferred but not required
