**Job Title: Grinder Operator** **Job Description** The role involves identifying surface defects on forged parts through meticulous surface inspection and using powered hand grinders, cutting burrs, polishers, and cut-off wheels to remove these defects. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of forged parts by removing flash extensions and blending removed cracks to prevent void spaces. Keeping the work area clean and safe is paramount, as is working safely and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. As a team member, you will communicate effectively and uphold compliance with all company procedures and safety requirements. **Responsibilities** + Identify surface defects on forged parts via surface inspection. + Remove surface defects using powered hand grinders, cutting burrs, polishers, and cut-off wheels. + Use calipers and tape measures effectively. + Remove flash extension while maintaining the integrity of the forged part. + Blend removed cracks to prevent void spaces. + Maintain a clean and safe work area. + Work safely and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. + Participate as a team member under One Team, One Direction. + Maintain compliance with company procedures and safety requirements. + Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor that are reasonable. **Essential Skills** + Experience with grinder, grinding, and polishing. + Knowledge of deburring in the manufacturing industry. + Ability to operate hand grinders in a manufacturing environment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Strong communication skills and ability to read/follow directions in English. **Why Work Here?** This is a contract-to-hire position in the manufacturing industry, offering opportunities for growth and stability. **Work Environment** The work environment is manufacturing-based, requiring comfort in dirty and dusty conditions. The position is initially on the first shift from 5:00 am to 1:00 pm, with potential for an earlier start at 4:00 am and flexibility for a second shift in the future. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
