Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.000000 | Full Time | 1st Shift - Days | May also consider a Certified Histotechnician for this position Salary: This position is also eligible for shift differentials for swing, night, and weekend hours:
- $1.73 extra for working between 3:00pm - 11:00pm
- $3.50 extra for working between 11:01pm and 7:00am
- $1.54 extra for working weekends

The lab at
Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) features the following equipment: Total Lab Automation (one of the first sites in the state to offer this feature) Misys LIS; DXC 800; LX 20; DXI; LH 750; Advance; ProVue Automation available in Blood Bank; Automated MIC and Blood Culture Instrumentation in Microbiology
Position Summary Our Histology department processes a wide variety of specimens. In addition to routine histology we perform IHC and special stains. We recently brought on two Leica Bond automated IHC platforms. Other exciting changes on the horizon will be a new Pathology lab which will be a 67% increase in our current size, projecting to be in this new space by the start of 2023.
- The Histotechnician should possess sound organizational skills that support accuracy & attention to detail under stressful, high-paced work conditions. Also, they should encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers & other departments and display collaborative effort to maximize efficiency in daily workflow. As a Histotechnician you will have the opportunity to perform all procedures required to prepare tissue specimens for histological diagnosis by the Pathologist.
- The Histotechnologist performs all procedures required to prepare tissue specimens for histological diagnosis by pathologist.
Qualifications Education - Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or equivalent in education and/or experience required for Histotechnician.
- Successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) accredited Histological Technician program - OR - Exam Eligible (having education/experience demonstrating qualifications to take and successfully complete the ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) Histotechnician/Histotechnologist exam) is required
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, required for Histotechnologist and preferred for Histotechnician
Licensure/Certifications - HT: Histotechnician or HTL: Histotechnologist certification registered by Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required within 6 months of hire
