JOB SUMMARY:

Join the Furniture Mart USA team as an Interior Design Consultant in the NEW Billie Arthur Design Studio in Sioux Falls!

SUMMARY:

Interior Design Consultants warmly welcome each client into our store, providing a friendly and professional first impression. They educate clients about the quality of our furniture and assist in customizing pieces to create unique, personalized designs. Utilizing our in-store selection suites, the Interior Design Consultants help customers envision and design their living spaces. Additionally, they handle sales, manage custom orders, provide excellent customer service, and support in-store events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include the following. Other duties may be assigned)

• Full-Time (40 hrs/wk)
• Welcome clients warmly as they enter the store.
• Represent the company positively and professionally.
• Assist clients in designing their living spaces.
• Utilize design expertise to sell merchandise and achieve sales goals.
• Educate customers on product features and payment options.
• Learn and apply knowledge about various furniture types and sales techniques.
• Maintain knowledge of current styles and trends.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Assist with moving furniture during floor sets.
• Support in-store events and activities.
• Make house calls as needed to assist clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in Sales & Customer Service preferred
• Demonstrate an Interior Design ability with an eye for color
• Creative and innovative thinker
• Design Background preferred with a general knowledge of blueprints and spatial planning
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs
• Basic computer knowledge: Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
• Personable and able to work well with others
• Ability to interact with a variety of people inside and outside of the organization
• Post secondary degree in design, or equivalent of 3+ years design experience
