Job Title: Contract Manager (Onsite)

Location: Boston, MA

Compensation: $52.00 – $77.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Job Summary

A Boston-based pharmaceutical company is seeking a Contract Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of contracts, from initiation through archiving. The ideal candidate will be experienced in contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance, with a strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders and contract types. This role will serve as a central point of contact for all contractual activities within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary intake point for all contract requests across the company.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess contracting needs and determine the appropriate contract type and template.
  • Manage end-to-end contract lifecycles including drafting, negotiation, execution, amendments, renewals, and termination.
  • Independently manage and negotiate simple contracts.
  • Partner with legal, compliance, procurement, and business teams to address complex contracting matters.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with organizational policies and applicable laws.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and ensure timely archiving.
  • Identify risks or ambiguities in contract language and escalate when appropriate.
  • Support process improvements and operational initiatives related to contracting.
  • Coordinate internal reviews and facilitate timely approvals from relevant departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration, Life Sciences, Legal Studies, Healthcare Management, or related field). Paralegal certification is also acceptable.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in contract management, including drafting and negotiation.
  • Deep understanding of standard contract structures, legal terminology, and compliance standards.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a high volume of work.
  • Effective communicator with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and guide internal teams through the contracting process.
  • Proficient in contract lifecycle management systems and documentation practices.

Work Location & Travel

  • Hybrid role based in Boston, MA – 2 to 3 days per week onsite is required.
  • Increased on-site presence is expected during the onboarding period.
  • Less than 5% travel anticipated.
