About The Job

Reporting directly to the Director and with support from our team, you will manage all marketing communications initiatives aimed at building community engagement and education, driving event participation and forging industry partnerships. You are a motivated, self-starter who’s ready to assume the top marketing role at a small nonprofit, healthcare organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent messaging: Oversee and incorporate consistent messaging into all marketing efforts, ensuring alignment with Narcolepsy Network’s positioning and the needs and sensitivities of the community we serve
  • Manage integrated marketing plan and calendar: Prepare and manage a working marketing communications calendar and assign responsibilities, deliverables and deadlines using our project management platform
  • Oversee production and create content: Working with our support team, you will plan, oversee and implement production of multi-media content for the website, social media platforms, e-marketing campaigns, collateral, webinars and events
  • Maintain and expand Social Media presence and engagement: Manage and enhance existing social media efforts and identify new channels and content opportunities (establish presence on new platforms, expand reach and engagement, motivate participation)
  • Spearhead marketing programs and content in support of key programs, such as:
    • Updated website
    • Annual conference, webinars and support groups
    • Fundraising outreach
  • On a selective basis, identify strategic marketing partnerships and programs: Ideas to foster new collaborations with potential partners (medical community, pharmaceutical companies, sleep centers, etc.), and to engage new spokespersons
  • Track and analyze results: Evaluate ongoing analytics and modify efforts to focus on winning strategies
Required Experience

  • 4-6 years of integrated marketing communications experience in healthcare. Nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required
  • Proven project management skill. A strong ability to oversee end-to-end production of ongoing content and marketing communications efforts
  • Ability to set-up and maximize project management tools for planning and overseeing execution (familiarization with Asana is a plus, but not required)
  • Marketing copy writing capabilities. The ability to write social and promotional content aligned with key messaging is a requirement
  • Multimedia production capabilities using various platforms and software tools
  • Strong track record growing social media communities and engagement
  • Baseline experience editing and updating websites (with support from website designer)
  • Marketing experience in support of fundraising is a plus, but not required
  • Proven ability to be very productive and driven working remotely

Narcolepsy Network is the 501(c)(3), member-led patient advocacy organization based in the United States educating and supporting people with Narcolepsy, Idiopathic Hypersomnia, and related sleep disorders. For 39 years, Narcolepsy Network has been a strong presence in the sleep community advocating for more research, promoting support groups, and hosting our well known 2 ½ day national conference which connects people so they no longer feel alone. Narcolepsy Network delivers programs and resources by providing clinical and research updates, educational webinars, facilitating support groups, and providing advocacy and awareness opportunities. Working with industry, academic, and other organizational partners, Narcolepsy Network works to ensure a neutral and unbiased approach to engage with the patient community.
