What is the position? This Entry Level Mechanical will be joining a multidisciplinary product development team. The ideal candidate will hold interests in the rapid prototyping, design, development and commercialization of unmanned vehicle systems and LiDAR sensor systems for unmanned vehicle systems. The Mechanical Engineer works alongside a talented team of electrical and system engineers to assist with rapid prototyping and design across multiple projects at 4D. What will I get to do? - Assist lead mechanical engineer with design of unmanned systems.
- Provide rapid prototyping and project support.
- Design and assemble test fixtures to aid in testing/production of LiDAR sensors.
- Develop quality documentation and drawing for mechanical components.
- Test and evaluate designs for reliability and function.
- Operate hand tools and simple machine tools such as bench lathes and drills
- Operate and maintain several additive (3D Printers) and subtractive (CNC mills) manufacturing equipment.
What qualifications do I need? - U.S. Citizenship, ability to obtain Secret clearance.
- Able to work onsite at 4D Tech Solutions in Fairmont, WV.
- B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
- 0-2 years relevant experience in mechanical engineering.
- Proficient with mechanical design software such as OnShape, Fusion 360 or similar.
What additional characteristics will help me thrive? - Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with OnShape design software.
- Experience with electrical/mechanical integration.
- Experience with unmanned aerial and/or ground vehicles.
- Experience with 3D printers/small milling machines.
- Experience with CAM software (i.e. Fusion 360) for programming CNC machines.

Compensation $60,422.60 - $90,633.90 The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data.
