Okta Migration Expert

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Okta Migration Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of identity management systems and will be responsible for leading migrations from Google Workspace Identity Provider (IDP) platform to Okta. This role requires a deep understanding of Google Workspace and Okta's functionalities, as well as a strategic mindset to ensure seamless and secure transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Migration Projects - Oversee the end-to-end migration process from Google Workspace IDP platform to Okta, ensuring minimal disruption to the business.
Configuration and Integration - Set up Okta authentication policies, user directories, and application integrations using OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and OAuth to ensure compatibility with enterprise applications.
Assessment and Planning - Conduct thorough assessments of existing IDP environments and develop detailed migration plans that align with business requirements and objectives.
Data Migration - Manage the secure migration of user identities, profiles, and access permissions from legacy systems to Okta.
User & Access Migration – Manage secure identity data transfers, group policies, and role-based access controls (RBAC) from Google to Okta.
Security and Compliance - Ensure that all migration activities comply with relevant security standards and regulatory requirements.
Testing and Validation - Perform rigorous testing to validate the success of the migration, including user acceptance testing and post-migration support.
Documentation and Training - Develop comprehensive documentation and provide training to internal teams and end-users on the new Okta environment.
Troubleshooting and Support - Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for any issues that arise during and after the migration process.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in identity management, with specific expertise in Okta migrations.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Okta configuration, integration, and management. Familiarity with various IDP platforms such as Active Directory, LDAP, Azure AD, etc.
Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Certifications: Okta Certified Professional or higher certification preferred.
