Role: Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Albany, New York

Duration: 30 Months

Description

This position is responsible for the installation and maintenance of all Oracle software that's used by all New York State agencies. This position will apply Oracle patches as they are released by Oracle Corporation, to comply with IRS regulations and to address known software defects and vulnerabilities. This position will support all areas of Oracle, including software installation, upgrades, patching, and database troubleshooting.

Duties

• Provide support for all Oracle Databases that are managed by ITS Enterprise database administration group:
• Support all areas of Oracle, including software installation, upgrades, patching, and database troubleshooting in an IBM AIX environment with RAC, PowerHA, ASM, Data Guard, and Enterprise Manager.
• Work during off hours, 4am-12pm, to perform software installs, upgrades and apply patches, as required.
• Work independently to troubleshoot all aspects of Oracle software installation, upgrades, and patches.
• Perform database migrations from legacy data centers.
• Work as part of a project team to support 450 servers, 2,500+ databases, and provide 7x24 support when required.

Mandatory Requirements

• Experience (10+ Years)
• Uses specialized software to store and organize data, which may include capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security and troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery.

Requirements

• This is an 100% Onsite
• 60 months experience administering and supporting Oracle Databases version 11gR2 and above. Experience must include working with the installation of Oracle software, applying Patch Set Updates, and working with ASM disk storage.
• 24 months experience in the installation, administration, and supporting Oracle Databases version 12c. Experience must include working with the installation of 12c Oracle software and applying Patch Set Updates.
• 24 months experience installing Oracle database and Oracle Grid Infrastructure software on IBM PowerHA / HACMP clusters.
• 6 months experience in the installation, administration, and support of Oracle Database 19c.
• 60 months Data Guard administration Oracle version 11g and above.
• Oracle Certified Professional - Oracle Database 11g Administrator
• Oracle Certified Expert: Oracle Real Applications Clusters 11g and Grid Infrastructure Administrator.
• Oracle Certified Specialist: Oracle Exadata 11g Implementation Specialist
• Oracle E-Business Suite R12 Applications Database Administrator Certified Professional Certification
