Job Description

gpac is working with a client located in Middle TN who is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations and growth of their distillery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing management, specifically within the spirits industry, and demonstrate leadership in optimizing production processes, managing teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plant Operations : Manage day-to-day distillery operations, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met consistently.
• Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Budget and Resource Management : Oversee budgets, monitor production costs, and manage resources to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Process Improvement : Identify and implement best practices for production optimization, equipment maintenance, and safety improvements.
• Supply Chain Management : Work closely with suppliers and distributors to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of raw materials.
• Reporting and Analysis : Provide regular performance reports, analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop action plans to address any performance gaps.

Qualifications:

• Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in a plant management role within the distillery, brewery, or beverage manufacturing industry.
• Education : Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Food Science, or related field (preferred).
• Leadership : Proven track record of managing large teams and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Distillery Operations : Deep understanding of the distillation process, fermentation, bottling, packaging, and quality control.
• Safety and Compliance : Familiarity with OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, and TTB requirements.
• Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency.
