Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Land Surveyor to perform and oversee a variety of surveying tasks including ALTA boundary surveys, topographic engineering surveys, and construction staking. This role also involves the use of LIDAR and GIS technologies for data collection and analysis. The ideal candidate will be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in North Carolina and possess strong leadership and technical skills to guide a small team and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct ALTA boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
Operate and maintain surveying equipment and software for field data collection and processing.
Apply LIDAR and GIS tools for spatial data analysis and reporting.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal surveying standards and regulations.
Oversee and mentor two direct reports, offering technical support and performance feedback.
Prepare and review detailed survey maps, plats, and technical reports for accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to meet project goals.
Maintain detailed records and documentation for all surveying activities.
Qualifications:
3 5 years of experience in land surveying.
Licensed Surveyor in the state of North Carolina or the ability to obtain licensure.
Proficiency in ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and construction layout.
Hands-on experience with LIDAR and GIS platforms.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data accuracy.
Proven leadership and communication skills, with experience supervising technical staff.
