We are seeking an experienced Micro Focus Visual COBOL Programmer to support ongoing development and maintenance of web service and batch business applications for the State of South Carolina . The ideal candidate will analyze complex system requirements, design and develop solutions, and ensure software stability across multiple environments.
Responsibilities:Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system issues.
Develop and maintain applications using Micro Focus Visual COBOL on Windows Server 2019/2022 (batch/IIS).
Code, test, debug, promote, and document software solutions.
Lead and participate in solution design discussions.
Develop and test programs in Visual Studio 2019/2022 using debugger.
Work with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and write complex SQL queries.
Configure and maintain IIS for application deployment.
Provide regular status updates to the development manager.
8+ years of experience in Micro Focus Visual COBOL (Windows Server 2019/2022, batch, IIS).
4+ years of experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022.
4+ years of application development against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).
5+ years of writing complex queries for Oracle and SQL Server.
2+ years of IIS setup and configuration.
1+ year of Microsoft C# .NET development.
SAP Public Sector experience.
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field (or 10+ years of equivalent experience).
