As Director for the Office of Public Health Practice (OPHP), the position will serve as technical lead of public health practice. This position is focused on increasing and maintaining opportunities for faculty, students, and staff to engage in public health practice activities. The Director provides leadership, coordination, and management of broadening efforts for collaboration with community partners (local, national, and global) and increasing the visibility of FSPH in the Public Health Practice arena. The incumbent organizes and presents sessions that overview school-wide requirements for the Applied Practice Experience (APEx) Program and serves as support for the department APEx Directors in areas including outreach and facilitation of connections with community partners and curation of professional development and industry-specific resources. The Director also leads collection and evaluation of data for the APEx Program and ensures Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accreditation and other Campus-wide reporting requirements are understood and followed. The incumbent provides leadership in working with faculty, departments, the Dean's Office, campus stakeholders and academic and community partners in matters related to graduate public health practice across the organization and is a key member of the leadership team for the MPH programs. This includes but is not limited to analysis of APEx program, identifying partnerships and funding opportunities, including grants, and management of program, including administering policies, and supervision and training of staff or student employees.
