Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as Residential Monitor Floater.
  • Monitors and assesses IGH/ILO/TLP programs to ensure compliance with the DCFS contract and program plan,
    as well as compliance with standards regarding appropriate clinical capacity, admission requirements, and overall
    performance.
  • Reviews management reports regarding therapeutic residential treatment centers and ILO and TLP providers and
    recommends and monitors quality improvement plans and corrective action plans, advising on and directing
    implementation of appropriate corrective action.
  • Synthesizes IGH/ILO/TLP data collected from all sources into a regular comprehensive assessment of each
    agency's outcomes.
  • Prepares and maintains necessary documentation for evaluating therapeutic residential treatment centers, ILO,
    and TLP providers.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated
    above.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, special education, or a related human
    service area.
  • Requires five years of progressively responsible professional experience in a human services area, which includes two years
    of demonstrated experience independently interacting and negotiating with other systems of services (mental health,
    developmental disabilities, substance abuse, specialized medical, special education) in a clinical setting to ensure that
    children with special needs gain access to such services.

Or Equivalent Alternative Method of Qualification
Requires a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, special education, or a related human service
area, plus two years of verifiable supervisory** experience providing services to special needs children in a state or private
human service agency.
** For clarification: Examples of qualifying supervisory experience for this class include, but are not limited to, a hospital
director or an administrator with subordinate staff that provides services to special needs children.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • 6 years of experience in a public or private organization applying extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of
    public child welfare administration and organization
  • 6 years of experience in a public or private organization applying extensive knowledge of the application of social work
    principles, methods, procedures, and techniques, with a special emphasis on serving children with special needs.
  • 6 years of experience in a public or private organization applying extensive knowledge of the purpose and structure of
    public agencies, private child welfare agencies, and other community-based agencies serving special needs children.
  • 6 years of experience in a public or private organization applying extensive knowledge of federal and state laws affecting
    the health and welfare of children, with a special emphasis on such laws which directly affect children with special needs.
  • 6 years of experience in a public or private organization applying extensive knowledge of the range of child welfare and
    other services needed by children with special needs.

Specialized Skills

  • Of the noted years of experience, requires that the experience involve working with children/youth in a licensed residential
    facility.

Conditions of Employment

  • Requires a valid driver's license, daily access to an automobile, and proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Requires ability to pass a background check.
  • Requires physical, visual and auditory ability to carry out assigned duties.
  • Requires ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as assigned.
