Position Overview

Cromwell Architects Engineers is seeking an Architectural Specifications Writer for our Little Rock, Arkansas office. Qualified candidates must have 5 years minimum experience in writing Specifications, AND a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field. Experience using SpecLink and SpecsIntact software. Ability to interpret drawings and technical data to develop architectural Specifications. Ability to prepare Procurement and Contracting Requirements based on project delivery method and contract type. Ability to work independently on multiple projects, manage and prioritize tasks, and operate under tight deadlines.

This position is best suited for an individual who excels in a collaborative and flexible work environment. Our Specification Writers work alongside Project Managers and Designers to prepare a comprehensive framework for the execution of a project.

Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural drawings and prepare detailed Specifications for the Project Manual. 
• Prepare Procurement and Contracting Requirements for the Project Manual based on project delivery method and contract type. 
• Coordinate Specifications and other project requirements with remote offices, engineers, outside consultants, and other firms and agencies for incorporation into the Project Manual.
• Prepare Addendums when modifications are required. 
• Serve as a technical resource to design team regarding products, materials, and standards, and help preserve institutional knowledge and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with industry and trade resources such as vendors, consultants, and contractors
• Sharp attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Clear communication skills, service oriented, and exhibit a high level of initiative and follow-through.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• 5 years experience in specifications writing.
• CSI Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) certification preferred.
• SpecLink and SpecsIntact software experience.
