Job Description

Charleston ENT & Allergy is proud to be the largest ENT and Allergy practice in the state of South Carolina. With a reputation built on clinical excellence and compassionate care, we serve patients across the region through a network of expert providers and cutting-edge facilities. Our state-of-the-art surgery center features four fully equipped operating rooms and supports a seamless, high-quality surgical experience for both patients and providers.

We are currently seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage the coordination of surgical procedures, ensuring that each case is scheduled with accuracy, efficiency, and patient-centered care in mind. Each scheduler is assigned to specific providers, allowing you to build strong relationships and streamline the surgical scheduling process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule surgical procedures with careful consideration for patient needs, physician availability, and surgical staff schedules

  • Coordinate pre-operative appointments and surgical logistics with affiliate hospitals

  • Obtain and verify all necessary patient demographics, medical, and insurance information

  • Counsel patients on financial responsibilities, including insurance coverage, out-of-pocket costs, and payment plans

  • Prepare and deliver written estimates, collect deposits, and maintain thorough documentation

  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth surgical experience

  • Follow up with patients regarding cancellations and rescheduling

  • Support physicians and staff by answering questions related to surgery scheduling and process

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • At least two years of medical office or healthcare administration experience preferred

  • Previous surgery scheduling experience is a plus

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Professional demeanor and ability to work well in a collaborative team environment
