Employment Type: Full Time, 40 hours/week 

Reports to: Chief Events Officer

Opportunity 

The Events Director is responsible for overseeing the planning, programming, coordination, and execution of all company events, ensuring they align with the organization's goals, brand, and objectives. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage a wide range of events, including conferences, product launches, internal meetings, and large-scale public events. The Events Director will also play a key role in driving profitability through P&L management, event product creation, programming, and curating high-quality content, including sourcing and booking talented speakers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of event planning, from concept to completion, ensuring that logistics, schedules, and vendor relationships are effectively managed ensuring it meets all company objectives, brand identity, and audience needs. 

  • Develop, Manage, and Execute a diverse range of events, including but not limited to: Annual Super Surge Summit, quarterly symposiums, regular boot camps, special events, conferences, internal employee programs, unique event products, workshops, networking experiences, and client engagement activities. 

  • Take full ownership of the event profit and loss (P&L) statements, ensuring events are profitable and meet financial goals. 

  • Regularly review financial reports, track event revenue and expenses, and provide senior leadership with insights on performance against budget. 

  • Curate compelling and relevant event programming, ensuring content meets the needs and interests of target audiences. 

  • Identify, recruit, and manage high-profile, knowledgeable, and engaging speakers for events (including industry experts, thought leaders, influencers, and entertainers). 

  • Negotiate speaker contracts and ensure all logistics related to their participation are efficiently handled. 

  • Ensure speakers’ content aligns with event themes and resonates with the target audience. 

  • Maintain relationships with a network of speakers and thought leaders to continually enhance the caliber of content offered at company events. 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of event coordinators and specialists 

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, sales, communications) to ensure smooth event execution. 

  • Provide leadership and direction to external vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure event objectives are met. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, sponsors, and partners. 

  • Effectively communicate event goals, objectives, and status updates to stakeholders. 

  • Work with sponsors to deliver value-added opportunities and ensure their needs are met before, during, and after the event. 

  • Collect feedback from attendees, stakeholders, and team members to assess the success of events. 

  • Analyze event performance metrics, including revenue generation, attendance, and audience engagement. 

  • Prepare detailed post-event reports and share insights with senior management for future planning. 

  • Ensure all events comply with legal, safety, and health regulations. 

  • Identify potential risks associated with event logistics, public health, security, and emergency procedures. 

  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen issues and minimize disruptions during events. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • 10+ years of experience in event planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale corporate events, conferences, and high-profile functions. 

  • Experience in developing and managing event P&L, ensuring profitability and budget compliance. 

  • Strong background in creating compelling event programs and content. 

  • Experience sourcing and managing top-tier speakers and talent. 

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Creative and strategic thinking with a passion for delivering high-quality events. 

  • Proven leadership abilities with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration. 

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 

  • Proficiency in event management software, project management tools, and MS Office Suite. 

  • Knowledge of event technology platforms, including virtual/hybrid event tools. 

  • Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable to changing circumstances. 

  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations with calmness and efficiency. 

  • Results-driven and focused on delivering impactful, memorable experiences. 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
