Role

We’re looking for a passionate, motivated, and intuitive videographer , who has a strong skill set with studio based productions as well as ‘run-n-gun’ in the field guerilla style filming to join our growing Mozi Media team. This position will require someone who understands both the creative/technical needs of filming as well as world class talent management. This role is responsible for filming Leila full time, which includes in-studio filming, vlog style filming, and shorts filming, sometimes multiple days per week. This role is required to be in Las Vegas full time with the ability to travel.

You are technically a videographer, but that means so much more than just filming. You are a hybrid role who is capable of wearing multiple hats, cause you’ve got it like that. The main functions of this role are videographer, video editor, and sound editor. You also aren’t afraid to get scrappy and create some graphics when the need is there.

This role reports to Leila’s Creative Director. You will work alongside the Mozi Media team.

Balancing the technical aspects of filming and the art of talent management are what you do best. Talent management in this context will involve directorial facilitation of vlog-style shooting (asking followup questions, keeping momentum and energy high, proactively communicating filming needs and requests, openness to feedback and willingness to suggest novel ideas). You understand the best practices of framing, lighting, and audio while also knowing how to manage talent energy, work with admin teams, and ask thought provoking questions. You’ve done this before at a high level and are able to show the trackable progress you made on previous content you’ve worked on.

This role is very important in the Acquisition.com company, as you will be spending a large amount of time with the CEO and greatly involved in their personal life. Above all else we look for someone who embodies our core values and is committed to the privacy of the CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Studio/Direct-to-Camera filming 1-3 days per week
  • Vlog filming throughout the week
  • Shorts filming as needed
  • Setting up studio shoots (lighting, framing, audio, props, etc.)
  • Shooting stills for use in social content
  • Grabbing stills from footage / Color Grading raw files / Editing stills / YT Shorts / IG Reels when not working on a production
  • Contribute themes for episodes of ‘The Hormozis’ in pre-production
  • Ask engaging questions while filming
  • Pay close attention to comments on Leila’s platforms to inform how you film future videos
  • Converting BRAW footage (removing noise and color grading) using Davinci Resolve
  • Adding footage promptly to Google Drive & Asana
  • Updating assigned tasks and communicating updates with team in Asana
  • Keeping studio clean and organized
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Thinking proactively about production improvements
  • Assisting in larger shoots if there is no responsibility overlap

Requirements

  • Talent Management Ability
  • Experience with keeping highly sensitive information confidential
  • Highly effective communicator and conversationalist
  • Deep understanding of the YouTube space
  • Strong understanding of reality TV and vlog pacing and how to create storylines
  • Proven success on YouTube as the videographer for a growing channel
  • Exceptional organizational skills and file management abilities
  • Speed and clarity in communication (primarily in Slack)
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced environment with an openness to change
  • Proactive approach to production and concept ideation
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in video production

Salary

  • $65,000-$80,000 salary

Location

  • Las Vegas, NV
  • Traveling when Leila travels or as necessary

Availability

  • M-F 7am–6pm PT with flexibility to work weekends when needed
