Job Details

  • Wage Range: $26/hr. - $40/hr. Starting wage will depend on knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Rotating, every three weeks, 8-hour shifts (7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, 11:00pm – 7am)
  • Must be able to work weekends, overtime and holidays
  • Benefits: 401(k)/matching contributions, $2.00 shift differential for off-shifts, vacation and insurance (medical, dental, vision, life and disability), annual bonus plan.

Position overview

As a Chemical Operator at allnex, you will be part of our manufacturing teams who are safely producing our products in an environmentally responsible manner. You will join us in one of our control rooms and will be driving process improvement through innovation and automation. This includes, but is not limited to charging raw materials to reactors remotely, monitoring key parameters of the chemical process like temperature and pressure. Successful candidates will be required to work shifts and contribute on a team in a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • The safe operation of the unit, compliance with health requirements and protection of the environment.
  • Ensuring production of material meets strict Quality standards.
  • Confirm production run is set up in accordance with established procedures and processes.
  • Verify preventative measures are in place to maintain operating efficiency and equipment integrity.
  • Monitoring operations, recording data, and completing work instructions.
  • Work with the supervisor to address issues and report production incidents & unsafe conditions.
  • Work with team members and train junior operators to ensure team objectives are met in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Accurately transfer shift information, between shifts.

Required skills and experience

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment / chemical process knowledge, preferred.
  • Prior experience running a controls system, preferred.
  • Fluent English skills, required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to make entries in automated systems
  • Basic safety awareness
  • Basic understanding of mathematics

Physical Requirements

  • Long periods of standing, walking and sitting
  • Ability to wear certified safety equipment, as required
  • Lifting capability of up to 50 pounds / 22kg
  • Ability to climbing ladders / stairs
