Position Description: 

n direct coordination with department directors the Staffing & Scheduling Coordinator handles daily staffing for all in-patient departments and
Emergency Department.

Essential Job Duties:

Coordinates daily staffing for all in-patient departments and Emergency Department.

Communicates daily staffing to all necessary departments.
Coordinates staffing requirements with availability in all departments.
Makes staffing needs known to agencies and coordinates agency availabilities with department needs.
Coordinates staff on the float pool list with the staffing needs within each department.
Considers such things as patient mix, department skill requirements and competencies of available staff.

Assures mandated nurse-to-patient ratios, in all departments.
Assigns appropriate staff to each nursing department without exceeding budget standards.
Maintains close communication with all nursing directors and/or charge nurse.
Distributes reports as requested by directors and others.
Assists with bed control duties as necessary

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, multiplication and addition.
• Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical/clinical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to work under supervision and to follow instructions. Pleasant telephone manners. Neat and legible handwriting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Must have good computer skills specifically in Word and Excel.
• General education level.
• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
